The Rear Cradle Alignment Tool for the 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO has been the diamond in the rough when it comes to finding them. In the past, people would loan these tools to each other. These people that bought from GM and would pass it a long form person to person. These days most of those people no longer own a GTO and sold off their units, making these already rare tools like a needle in a hay stack to find now.
Pontiac GTOs are often known for being slightly off even from the manufacture and sometimes you will hear creaking coming from the rear and even as bad as throwing you off at the track because the cradle is off to one side or the other. Most commonly they seem to be off the the left.
These tools are required to align the rear cradle to get your GTO at the optimal performance for handing and even as simple as preventing rear tire wear. It is also a MUST when doing a bushing a full rear suspension replacement or a upgrade of rear polyurethane bushing sets where you remove the rear cross-member bots.
So what can one do when you cannot find them and the GM dealerships don’t even have them anymore?
