90/10 means that this shock has 9 times more resistance to compression than it has for expansion which will allow this strut to expand easy in turn helping to bring the front up on launch so that all the weight will sit on the rear wheels giving you better traction. The high resistance on the way down helps to dampen the shock of the front end coming down and which helps keep weight to the rear wheels when continuing down the drag strip.
