This crank puller is a handy compact tool to remove the crank from the bottom bracket.
On some bicycles, the crank is secured with an Allen bolt. On others, the 14mm (or 15mm) nut is hidden behind a decorative cap. For all cranks, this is the right tool.
This crank puller is equipped with an 8mm allen for the first one mentioned. The extra (orange) cap is required if a hollow shaft is used.
