Description
Fuji Transonic 2.1 Aero Road Bike
The Fuji Transonic 2.1 is the brand’s flagship aero road bike – a machine engineered from the ground up to go fast and keep going fast. Built around a C10 high-modulus carbon frame produced through high compaction moulding and a schedule process layup, the Transonic’s linear aero design integrates frame, fork, and components into a seamlessly optimised whole. Every tube shape, cable routing decision, and junction point has been considered through the lens of aerodynamic efficiency, making this one of the most purposeful aero road bikes available at its price point in Australia.
The fully integrated aero design carries through from the C10 high-modulus carbon fork with 100x12mm thru-axle to the Transonic Aero Carbon seatpost – a proprietary component that maintains the frame’s clean lines all the way to the saddle rails. PF30 bottom bracket shell and 142x12mm rear thru-axle complete a stiff, precise rear end that transfers power efficiently and holds its line through high-speed corners. For riders chasing fast times on Victorian criterium circuits, taking on the Amy’s Gran Fondo, or simply pushing their limits on the open roads of the Surf Coast or Mornington Peninsula, the Transonic 2.1 delivers a genuinely race-ready platform.
The drivetrain is built around SRAM Rival AXS – a wireless electronic 2×12-speed groupset that brings the convenience and precision of electronic shifting to an accessible price point. The SRAM Rival AXS DUB crankset in 48/35T pairs with a SRAM PG-1250 10-30T cassette, offering a wide range suited to both fast flat racing and rolling climbs. SRAM Rival AXS hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors provide consistent, powerful modulation in all conditions, with the wireless lever integration keeping the cockpit clean and aerodynamically uncompromised.
The Vision Tech Trimax 35 Disc tubeless-ready alloy wheelset is a strong performer at this level – 35mm of rim depth provides meaningful aerodynamic benefit in crosswind conditions without the handling penalty of a deeper section wheel, and tubeless compatibility opens the door to lower pressures and reduced rolling resistance. Vittoria Rubino Pro IV G2.0 tyres at 700 x 28c are a respected training and racing tyre that balance durability with low rolling resistance on sealed Australian roads.
The cockpit runs an Oval Concepts 310 Ergo handlebar – 6061 alloy with 31.8mm clamp, 133mm drop, and 4 degree sweep – on an Oval Concepts 313 3D-forged stem at +/-6 degrees, with Selle Italia Smootape Corsa bar tape and a Selle Italia X3 Boost saddle completing the fit. The Transonic 2.1 represents a compelling entry point into serious aero road cycling for Australian riders who want a factory-fast bike without the flagship price tag.
